Malaysia Project: A Panoramic Gantry Elevator with a 170mm Pit

Installing a glass panoramic elevator near a villa’s balcony sounds beautiful, but the structural and electrical realities are often complicated.

For this 2-story villa project in Malaysia, the client specifically requested a traction gantry structure for its superior stability and ride comfort.
However, the site presented three major challenges:

  • The foundation could not be dug deeper than 170mm
  • The local power grid supplied an unusual 415V
  • The balcony area lacked clear and solid top fixing points

Because we are a direct manufacturer that designs from the ground up, we did not ask the client to modify their home.
We engineered the elevator to fit the existing environment.

How We Solved the Site Constraints

1. The 170mm Ultra-Shallow Pit (Gantry Structure)

A standard traction gantry elevator typically requires a pit depth of 200mm to 300mm.
The client’s maximum allowable depth was 170mm.

Instead of switching to a different drive system, our structural engineers:

  • Redesigned the gantry bottom frame
  • Compressed the mechanical footprint

We achieved:

  • Safe installation within a 170mm pit
  • Maintained 400kg load capacity
  • Preserved 0.4m/s operating speed

2. Adapting to Malaysia’s 415V Power Grid

Standard home elevators usually operate on 220V or 380V.
This project required operation under 415V.

Using standard equipment under this voltage would result in:

  • Electrical instability
  • Long-term motor damage

Our solution:

  • Integrated a custom voltage stabilizer into the control system
  • Ensured consistent and stable operation despite grid fluctuations

3. Custom Top Fixing Brackets

Balcony installations often lack solid structural support at the top.

Since the fixing points were uncertain, we:

  • Designed custom mounting brackets
  • Reinforced the upper support system

This ensured:

  • Structural stability of the glass shaft
  • Secure installation of the gantry frame

Engineered for Zero-Hassle Maintenance

Homeowners expect convenience, not ongoing maintenance issues.

We upgraded the system with features that significantly reduce after-sales effort.

Self-Lubricating Guide Shoes

Traditional systems require manual oil refilling.

Our solution:

  • Eliminates oil cups entirely
  • Provides automatic lubrication

Benefits:

  • Reduced maintenance frequency
  • Lower service costs

Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMS) Gearless Motors

Both the main drive and door operator use PMS gearless technology.

This delivers:

  • No need for gear oil changes
  • Quiet operation
  • Lower failure rates

Smart Eco-Mode

To reduce energy consumption, the system includes an automatic sleep mode.

When idle:

  • Cabin lights turn off
  • Fans shut down
  • Displays deactivate

The system reactivates instantly when called.

Premium Details & Safety

Aesthetic Finish

The cabin floor features premium real marble, matching the villa’s interior design.

ARD (Automatic Rescue Device)

In the event of a power outage:

  • The ARD system activates automatically
  • The elevator moves to the nearest floor
  • Doors open to release passengers safely

One-Touch Emergency Call

A built-in emergency dialer ensures immediate access to assistance.

Don’t Let Site Limits Stop Your Vision

Whether you face:

  • Ultra-shallow pits
  • Unusual voltage requirements
  • Complex installation environments

A true manufacturer can engineer a solution around your constraints.

If you want a premium panoramic elevator with minimal maintenance, our team is ready to design it for you.
