When a client trusts your engineering, they come back with harder problems.
After successfully installing a passenger elevator for this client in Saudi Arabia, they handed us a massive challenge for their new 3-story underground parking garage.
They had an open, undivided space measuring 5612mm × 5250mm.
Within this single space, they needed two separate car lifts, each capable of lifting 4 tons.
To make things more complicated:
- There were no existing walls to mount the guide rails
- The pit was exceptionally shallow
- The local power supply was not standard for heavy machinery
Here is how our engineering team solved every constraint to deliver a fully custom, heavy-duty parking solution.
The Engineering Challenges & Our Factory Solutions
1. No Walls? We Built the Frame.
Because the 5612 × 5250mm area was a completely open void, standard wall-mounted elevators were not an option.
Our Solution:
We designed a hydraulic post-style lifting platform with a heavily reinforced, self-supporting steel frame.
We didn’t just supply the lifts — we engineered the entire structural system to safely support:
- Two fully loaded 4-ton platforms
- Simultaneous side-by-side operation
2. Maximizing Platform Size for SUVs
Despite the limited footprint and structural constraints, we optimized the layout to provide:
- Two large platforms
- Each measuring 2250mm × 5200mm
This allows:
- Comfortable vehicle access
- Full compatibility with large SUVs and standard vehicles
3. The 20cm Ultra-Shallow Pit
A standard 4-ton car lift typically requires a deep pit.
This project had only a 200mm (20cm) pit available.
Our Solution:
We engineered an ultra-low-profile platform base with an exact thickness of 200mm.
This ensures:
- The platform sits flush with the ground at the lowest level
- Smooth and safe vehicle entry and exit
4. The Voltage Hurdle: 4 Tons on 220V 3-Phase
This was the most critical technical challenge.
Standard heavy-duty hydraulic systems typically require 380V power.
The site only had 220V 3-phase power available.
Our Solution:
Our electrical engineers customized the entire motor and hydraulic power unit.
We developed a system that:
- Safely handles 4-ton loads
- Operates smoothly on 220V 3-phase power
- Eliminates the need for costly electrical upgrades
Smart Safety & Control Features
When moving 4-ton vehicles across a 3-story open shaft, safety is critical.
We integrated multiple safety features to protect both users and equipment.
Automatic Roller Shutter Doors
To prevent falls into the open shaft:
- Custom roller doors were installed at each level
- Doors automatically close and lock when the platform moves
Emergency Remote Control Leveling
In the event of a system fault:
- Maintenance personnel can use a dedicated remote control
- The platform can be safely moved to the nearest floor
This ensures:
- Vehicles are never trapped between levels
- Safe recovery in emergency situations
